I skipped our Saturday morning bike ride today. The stomach pain started again last night. I'll ride again when it eases up. Instead, I dumped out the ashes from the fire pit and rolled/carried it into the garage out of the weather. It's already starting to rust and there will be heavy rain tonight. A tropical depression is coming through. I brought everything else from the back yard that could blow around in the storm, but found myself faced with a dilemma when I discovered a bird nest in the citronella lantern under the patio umbrella! Do I lower the umbrella and leave the lantern out in the rain? If I put the lantern somewhere else safe will the birds be able to find it? If I leave the umbrella open and lantern hanging under it, could the wind blow it into the kitchen window and break it? Hey, what about the next time I want to use the lantern?!
I decided to leave the lantern under the open umbrella, but I moved it a safe distance from the window. The birds will have shelter from the storm. If there are no eggs or babies in it, I'll remove the nest after the storm when they have plenty of time to make another one - somewhere else!
