This photo is of Sandy helping me pack a box for Troy.
Our pets are developing new and remarkably annoying behavioral patterns.
The dog is still hoarding her bones, as usual, but now she eats them immediately after dinner, like she's having dessert! She also will no longer stand on the kitchen vinyl to eat her food. She picks up a few pieces, walks into the hallway to eat them, and then comes back for a few more. I'm not sure what it is about the vinyl floor that she dislikes, except that it's a little cooler in temperature than the carpet.
The cat has taken up singing opera in the middle of the night. I've considered waking her every time I see her sleeping during the day, to see if I can encourage her to sleep more at night, but it just seems cruel somehow. Is this some kind of mating ritual? Gas pain? Disorientation in the dark?
The dog will no longer go the bathroom on the leash unless I walk her a long distance and she just can't hold it anymore. She will wait ALL DAY to go unless we walk to the end of the street or I let her off the leash. The trouble is she chases the cats, squirrels and rabbits around the neighborhood as soon as she's loose. It would seem that she can see them from a mile away, or can she smell them??? It will be a luxury to have the fence put up so Sandy can roam the yard freely.
Ahead: mountain biking the New River trail, slipcover fun, and a new bathroom countertop.
